E3 floor space almost sold out
Floor space for the upcoming E3 Expo in Los Angeles has almost been entirely sold out, as the event prepares for its June 15 opening day.
Organizers at the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) have also announced the participation of a number of new exhibitors including dreamGEAR, Havok, Nexon America, Nvidia, SouthPeak Interactive, Valve Corporation and Zoo Games.
The reinvigorated trade show, still the largest in the world for videogames, is due to run between June 15 and 17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. As normal a number of prominent console manufacturer and publisher press events are due to occur in the days immediately beforehand.
The ESA claim “strong exhibitor participation and robust attendee registration” for the event, although qualified industry professionals can still receive E3 Expo badges up until the day of the show.
“With groundbreaking announcements expected from computer and video game publishers and developers, this year’s E3 Expo is going to be the main event for the entertainment industry in 2010,” said Michael D. Gallagher, president and CEO of the ESA. “Major retailers, investor analyst firms, and media from the United States and over 60 countries are already committed to attending.”
“I expect the 2010 E3 to be one of the most exciting in years, with the type of impactful breaking news we have learned to expect from the show. This year’s E3 will be the launching pad for hardware and software innovations that could change the industry for years,” said Michael Pachter, MD of equity research at Wedbush Securities.
